The recital of the Kaddish prayer by family members of the departed is of great importance for the departed soul and its recitation assists the mourner to cope with his loss as well.

Surprisingly, the Kaddish prayer doesn’t mention death at all but is a beautiful proclamation of the greatness of G-d. In spite of our painful loss we proclaim His greatness, thus emphasizing our belief that all is according to a Divine Plan.

Through our Jewish sources, both in the Talmud and in Kabbalistic works, we are taught that our physical life is only a part of our existence and that after the death of the physical body, the soul continues on.

Saying the beautiful Kaddish prayer for our loved ones brings merit to the departed soul and also provides an emotional and spiritual healing for those reciting it.
